(Video) How to illustrate permaculture designs using Pages

Aside from carefully compiling every detail of permaculture law for a top tier system, a  really good permaculture design needs to be illustrated.

For this, many point to Adobe. For many, the cost of this prestigious software is formidable, the skill to run it unfathomable.

I certainly won’t say Adobe won’t vividly paint every detail of your design. The software is amazingly powerful. I will say, in the vast majority of simple yard illustration, it’s overkill.

Simple visuals most permaculture designs warrant can run on very simple software as accessible, and ubiquitous as Apple’s word processing app Pages.

I’ve made many very nice designs using Pages. It’s simply more straightforward than, say, Adobe illustrator.Screen Shot 2018-03-01 at 7.34.19 PM.png

For logo design and the like, I do use Ai. I decided lately to illustrate the current design for my own food forest Mortal Tree (not the average design, as you’ll see) and got quite satisfactory results using Pages.

If you have any questions about this process after watching how I put together a design here, feel free to comment.

The finished design made on this tutorial I used here. Let me know if you intend to try your hand at this.
